At four years old, Barrett Senegal (aka DJ Acebooncoon) received his first turntable and replayed his favorite Fraggle Rock track until all it would do is scratch. Now scratching is what he does best as a resident DJ at local Houston venues like The Flat and The Tasting Room.  Inspired by everything from grass roots hip-hop music to Willie Nelson, Acebooncoon provides an eclectic variety for his listeners and speaks frankly about appreciating the complete art that goes into being a DJ. From discussing sneakers to Houston legend Z-Ro, Acebooncoon proves that like his working moniker, he is a true Southern figure with local flair.

Yellowtail Merlot or Shiraz (spoken like a former DJ for Uptown's Tasting Room), or a vodka-tonic

Entourage definitely. Fellow DJ B-Luxx, along with Abracadabra, and Tee Dot (I requested him to spell those)

Weirdest request you've ever gotten?
"Mr. Officer" by Lil Wayne. That wouldn't be such an odd choice if it wasn't coming from an 80 year old lady.

The bite you grab post-show?
Whataburger fries! (Me: eyebrow raise)

What kind of girls do you notice?
I notice the girl who's there because her friend made her come. She looks like she just came from work and only wants a glass of wine, then goes home by midnight. That's the girl that catches my eye. (My question: Then how do you get her number?)

Craziest DJ story?
One night, both my needles broke on the turntable. I spent an hour stalling the crowd by playing on internal mode until a friend rush delivered them.
