Probably the greatest club space in Houston. The Drake is a terrific and elegant environment with sweeping staircases and three long bars created by noted designer Karen Burke.The VIP balcony overlooks the masses on the dance floor from an appropriate height. This high-end, well-dressed and tasteful nightclub was responsible for turning Washington's Eastern end upside down on the weekends when it opened. The Drake has faced a few roadblocks lately because of its proximity to a nearby church. Heaven forbid. So it's now open on a more exclusive basis, for parties and weekly events, usually in partnership with the city's top promoters. Friday is currently a top Urban night at the Drake.
