A Houston native, Josh DuPont got into DJing through his roommate a few years back, and has been one of Houston's top house DJ's ever since. Currently, he keeps busy DJing Friday night's at Hudson Lounge and Saturday nights at Eig8t, producing and writing his own music, and working on his record label called Nightshade music, for which he has already signed both Texas and European artists. Busy guy, right? Here he tells us about his first cassette tape, his groupies and entourage (or lack thereof) and what will get him to play the song you're dying to hear.

What's you least favorite song to play that the crowds love?
Anything Top 40. I also refuse to play GS Boyz 'Stanky Leg'.

Drunk people love to give me money. So in those cases, yes, I do.

Weirdest request you've ever gotten?
"Can you play something with a beat?" and "You gonna play anything good tonight?" (The second one comes mostly from girls).

Where do you grab a bite post show?
Les Givrals. Open 'till 3am.

What are you listening to now?
80's, 90's stuff. Depeche Mode remix, The Prodigy remix...

First record you ever bought?
Beastie Boys 'License to Ill' on cassette tape.

What kind of girls do you notice in the crowd?
Always the ones standing around. I never notice the ones dancing and having fun.
