An inviting spot that’s also a great place to unwind after a long day of work, Shay McElroys’ is a Houston pub located in downtown on Texas and Travis. The crowd is mainly in their 40’s and 50’s, yet it’s never really crowded. The inside is decorated like an old Irish pub, and the bartenders are friendly (however, they happen to not use finest quality liquor, so prepare yourself before coming for a possible hangover.) A decent bar with a decent drink selection, this bar is good for downtown Houston but probably wouldn’t make the cut elsewhere.
